Again, thank you Valerie for your help and just for the record the IPC6012 provided the information I needed.
My customer was very pleased with the information I was able to provide and, even though I am well aware of the variations in plating densities et al, the customer has no idea what intricacies are involved in the physics of pc fabrication and ultimately wanted only to use the metric equivalents in their specification drawings.
And thank all of you for the animated and informative discussion!!

Greetings fellow technetters!
I have a German customer who would like to convert the standard; 1 oz., 2 oz. copper on their drawings into the metric system, specifically microns. Does anyone know of a conversion table or just the conversion factor one would use. I'm thinking that say 1 oz./ sq.ft. would become some grams per micron, but have been told it's not that simple. Help!
