                      RE>DES: PTH Mathematical Model 6/18/97

Hi Andy,
I used to work with Boris for many years at DEC and would suggest that you
call him directly to ask about such things. He isn't there anymore, but I
don't know what he's doing. Try him at home in Lexington, MA (hey, there
can't be *too* many Boris Mirmans in Lexington! :^)). Boris is brilliant,
very accessible, and could surely give examples of the applications.

Best regards,
Greg Bartlett

Hi Technetters,
I'm a student at Georgia Tech looking into PTH reliability. Boris
Mirman from DEC published one of the few papers on mathematical models of
PTH failures in 1988. Has anyone applied this model to their designs? I
would like to see an example of how the calculations are carried out. In
particular, I'm curious as to how ul, the "eigenvalues of the problem" are
calculated.
	Many thanks,
		Andy Scholand
