How about some type of laser inspection system? We have a small
Cyberoptics system (www.cyberoptics.com, 800-746-6315) that we use to measure the
thickness of thick film paste ans solder maks before and after it is
fired. I believe that it has an accuracy of roughly 0.1 mils, and is
probably not that expensive.
