Saul, the connectors at the edge are the likely source. Without physically
looking at the panel, it is difficult to suggest a solution. If you could fax
the board outline with and without components, I may be able to help. 

This type of problem was resolved at a telecon assembly line where the
circuit board was warped after assembly and could not mate with the back
panel. I will be happy to help you.
