Hello everyone,

We are trying to install a diode from a connector pin in one side of the
board to
a trace in the same side.  We are not sure how to do this.  Either
soldering one lead of
the diode directly to the trace or drilling a hole in the trace
and make the contact there.

How would you go about solving this problem?  The board has only two
layers and the trace is approx. 5mm wide.
