I would have to say no.  Your hands would be too sticky and the sugar would
draw ants.  Then you would need pesticides.  Which would bring a whole new
round of questions.  In fact, I am fielding a few of those now such as if
we fumigate a plane with ozone for 30 minutes, will it impact your hardware.
