Hey Louis,

You may want to inquire with a company called MicroFab Technologies, Inc. They have been in the business of exploring novel applications of ink jetting for decades. They make interesting research machines and provide application services. If anything, they should be a good information resource.

Regards,

Howard Watson

Subject: [TN] 'inkjetting' of resist

TechNetters, anyone have experience with inkjet deposition of resists, in particular etch resists? I've been charged with evaluating an inkjetting machine and its associated etch resist. The project seems interesting enough, but I have no acquaintance with this kind of technology.

Please let me know of any suggestions of technical literature to consult, or experience using or testing such machines you are willing to relate.

One thing I wonder about is signal integrity in boards whose conductive patterns were formed by such a process. Anyone have comments on that point?

Thanks for any comments. Louis Hart
