Is there a tool that could be used to check the hole fill after
wavesoldering. We do not have cross-sectioning capabilities here in the
plant. I know that IPC calls for 50% hole fill but in our case when our
quality people on the line see a partially filled hole they try and fill it
with touching up. we are working on getting a grip on this with some
difficulty.

As a side note which parameter (% top side heater, dwell time, wave height,
bottom side temp) on our Soltec wave solder oven would we want to change to
possibly get greater hole fill when we have a very large heatsink part with
though hole leads. I really don't have the time this time for a DOE for
this and was hoping someone else has had this problem.
