James,

I have been involved in two different "disasters" in which a conductive
epoxy was used to connect solder coated chip type components. The
products were intended for or used in office type environments. Some
failed in the factory and some failed weeks or months after being
fielded. The failure mode was elevated DC resistance of the interconnection.

I seem to recall some conductive epoxies out there which can be used with
solder terminations, can't recall the specifics. Otherwise I'd only use
the epoxy for gold plated chip components and use solder for solder coated
terminations.

Good Luck,
Gregg
