The wave optimizer can be used to gather data from the wave solder. The wave optimizer can be used to check the parallelism of the conveyor rails and the wave itself. Using that same data the immersion depths and the dwell time can be calculated. As far as temperatures, I don't have a lot of confidence in the temperature that is taken. It will give you a top side board temp. As you know, all pcb boards are different. The simulation of top side preheat temperature just before wave is not universal. The best way to know top side board temperature is by using the M.O.L.E.

I am interested in hearing from anyone out there who is using a piece of equipment called the "Wave Solder Optimizer" to monitor and improve wave soldering quality in production.

I would especially like to know how "trustworthy" you think the reported data is, (temperatures, immersion depth, parallelism), and why.

Thanks!
