The free schematic and PCB design tools at
www.expresspcb.com
produce an output with the .pcb extension.  These tools seem to be
Oriented for production at their site (only).  Their .pcb file is not
ASCII, and can be read with their free program.  The free tools are
a good way to create a captive audience.  I don't think any other
programs can use this data format.
