Hetal,

IPC-TM-650 2.6.3.7 (SIR) on the IPC-B-24 (materials on/over comb only) or B-52 (assembly) test vehicles.
There are several proprietary methods/specifications, which for the most part add length to the test and robust pass/fail criteria.

2.6.3.7 and the B-52 are the method and vehicle of the forthcoming IPC-9202 and 9203. These documents will be used to support the also forthcoming J-STD-001 Appendix C as a qualification/characterization "off-the-shelf choice". This turn-key choice is to be harmonized with the IEC process characterization standard already in use, and therefore will likely be widely recognized and adopted.
The committee homepage for 5-32b SIR is a good reference.
Doug Pauls and Graham Naisbitt are the primary authors of said documents and frequent TechNet contributors.

I will send a list of the usual suspect labs privately.

Chris Mahanna

Hi All,

We are searching an external lab that perform compatibility test of solder paste and conformal coating. Does anybody know that?
What method is use for this type of testing?

Any insight to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
