    Steve, I think that you are referring to a finish known as Alpha
    Level, which is supplied by Alpha Metals, part of the Cookson
    Group. The finish looks cosmetically very good - like a perfectly
    flat HASL finish - and is an immersion silver topped with an
    organic coating to prevent oxidation of the silver. We have
    solderability (wetting balance) results, which I could share with
    you if you like. I know of one OEM which does single sided only SMD
    assembly which has approved the finish, but I do not have any
    information on double sided + through hole soldering.
