You've gotten some great advice, to which I'll add only a
little. Given your location I'd suggest you ask for some
travel time and budget, so you can go to:
1, your primary fab and assembly vendors for a tour
(some Designer Council chapters arrange tours in their flow
of meetings)
(Your vendors should be your friends; they would prefer you
sending appropriate design data and can be relied upon to
an extent to help you determine what that means...)
2, some of the fine trade shows that support the discipline
Might also suggest you focus first on revisions, maybe even
send out the first new designs with yourself as the inter-
face so you can watch the process evolving in the hands of
(hopefully) a practicing professional.
