Hi Leif,

As a CM it varies greatly. We sometimes get boards that do not have
fiducials on them and end up using a PTH or a SMT pad. With this set-up
it's not uncommon to incorrectly read what is being used as a fiducial
and end up with a misprint. I'd say this happens about 20% of the time
we need to do it.

When we have a proper board with fiducials properly designed and located
and we wipe the stencil as specified any misprint triggers a corrective
action.
This is for products that are released for production.

On NPI we may have some misprints before we are completely happy with
the alignment but still a maximum of 2-3 panels.

Subject: [TN] Misprints

Technetters,

We are discussing misprints and what would be an acceptable ratio of
misprints. What are people on this forum comfortable with? I realize
this this is a very open ended question, but it would be interesting to
hear if there is a industry consensus on this one. What would trigger
corrective action?

Thank you!
