In a related world, we do a lot with Nitinol. Based on our experience with Nitinol, I have doubts about the long term performance of any connection not based on soldering. Nitinol is a high fraction Titanium, and when the Titanium grows an oxide, the resistance soars, to the point where it is practically non-conducting.
