However, you need to be aware that there are TWO 3M 600 tapes, one from
their stationary division which has a lower adhesive force and one from
their industrial packaging division, which has a much higher adhesive force.

So, if you want the mask and lettering to fail, you use the industrial
tape.  If you want it to pass, use the stationary division tape.
