Ioan,
Back in the day when we purchased our medium-vac SST (100-50mT), it was the only one on the market.
I'm sure there are some somewhat look-a likes by now. For example - http://vacuumsoldering.com
The SST did not come cheaply, and the graphite tooling was pricey, but it worked like a dream, and provided consistent results. From a development and manufacturing introduction point of view, that is what I wanted.
If I kept it clean, I could routinely get it into the 50mT range. Having multiple gas capability and over-pressure capability made it quite versatile for our mix of Mil, Space, and Implantable Medical hybrids.
Customer support was good. Tooling was well designed.
The weakest link at the time was the graphite tooling - you DON'T drop it! Not for clutzy operators
If you are an IMAPS member, you could search through the membership listings for equipment manufacturers for this type of product
Best wishes,
Steve C
