PTH = Plated Thru Hole - a hole that is drilled through all layers and
subsequently plated
IVH = Internal Via Hole - or "Buried Via" - a hole that connects internal
layers together, but does not connect to a surface layer - the inner layer
will have to be drilled and plated prior to lamination
BVH = Blind Via Hole - a via hole which connects a surface layer with an
internal layer, usually L-1 to L-2 or L-3, etc. Generally the depth of the via
should not exceed the diameter of the via by a factor of more than 1.3 to
1.0, although it is possible to have deeper holes if the diameter is large

With the holes sizes that you are mentioning, it sounds as if you are
asking about sequential build-up technology, but it is not clear. Could you
explain more about what you are asking?

Hi everyone!

I am designing a PCB that requires all type of the micro via.
Does anyone have any information about name of the via type like a
PTH,NTH,IVH,BVH ?
I need some basic info on VIA TYPE that HDI BOARD.
I know it's alot of type, what actually is a name of via.

We have 4types of via , next is one of our layer option.(6layer board)
1TO2,2TO3,1TO3 (HOLE SIZE 0.1~0.2mm)
2TO5(HOLE SIZE 0.2~0.3mm)
4TO5,5TO6,4TO6 (HOLE SIZE 0.1~0.2mm)
etc (PTH,NTH,OBLONG..)

Are there any "TechNetters" currently using above via type?
If so, what are your name of the via.
Does anyone know a simple method to define above type ?
Thank you in advance .....!

Thanks your reply.
