Thanks, Frederick. Technet, take note. Here is a possible supplier where you can buy smaller quantities of paste so you don't have to buy too much on a minimum buy.

Thanks Richard. I checked Stanley Supply and they have the paste in the
small tubes.
Best regards

Hisco
Your Kester rep or other solder paste rep.

Richard,
I have the same problem. We only use a very small amount of paste for
connector assembly. We have to pay to have the extra taken away. Who can
sell me the smaller amounts?

Not always possible, Reuven.
The issue is that most solder paste distributors will not accept orders
for small quantities of solder paste. There is usually a minimum buy of
about 20 of the 500-600 CC cartridges or jars. Therefore many smaller
companies have to find distributors who will sell them smaller
quantities, or they need to re-certify their paste for a longer shelf
life.
However, I recently found out that some distributors may provide paste
in smaller quantites if it is purchased in smaller 50 or 100 cc
syringes, which might work for some folks.

You should plan your solder paste consumption / purchasing according the
shelf life of the SP and store it according the manufacturer instruction
and manage it in FIFO priority.
If you are talking on years after expiration date, you have a big
logistic
and process problems.
