There is a recognised abrasion resistance test called Taber. This uses wheels with
specified grit and rotation speeds pressures etc, and is designed to give repeatable
comparitive data. This maybe what you are looking for. Believe its an ASTM Standard so try
there for more details, [if no joy I can punt around my files for more info.]
