Hi Jens!

FR404 is a FR4 product from AlliedSignal Laminate Systems. They have adopted this material as
their basic (or standard) FR4 product offering for multilayer materials. It is made with woven glass
fabrics e.g. 1080, 2113, 2116, 1652, 7628, etc. impregnated with a multi-functional epoxy resin
system. It is available in all the typical multilayer thicknesses & copper weights, & prepregs. They
don't offer this particular material in standard .059 or .062 rigid laminate any longer. It is also known
as "Gold Lam," since it has an amber or gold color. It has a nominal Tg of 150C. The dielectric
constant varies among the various thicknesses/types from ~4.2 to ~4.9. All the other characteristics
are very similar to other FR4 materials on the market with the same Tg. Call Allied or one of their
reps (e.g. Insulectro) for a data sheet. We have been using it for about 2 years with very good
yields.
