Do you have any way to check for entrained or dissolved air in the coating 
material? I have encountered a problem with similar liquids in which 
cavitation at a pump suction caused bubbles to appear from dissolved air in 
the solution. You can simulate this by putting some of the liquid in a 
vacuum jar and drawing down the pressure. Sometimes it takes a light tap 
(don't break the jar) to get the bubbles to appear. It's like the soda bottle 
that has been shaken before opening. If they appear, you need to get 
them out either with a vacuum or by re-dissolving them under pressure with 
a subsequent sloooow release of the pressure. Letting the material sit 
undisturbed under a slight vacuum might slowly remove the bubbles.
