When I was in Supply Management, we tried to come up with a  size that would be cost effective no matter
who the supplier was but found that this was only a useful idea in theory.  The various tooling systems and
coupon requirements (some suppliers put a coupon on all product and some do not, some use the full IPC
coupon and some just add a few drilled holes on the  edge of the production panel) in addition to the
number of available production panel sizes our suppliers had available etc. etc. made this impossible.
