Franklin,

Do you really believe that most fabricators have moved on as the forum
has transitioned to focus more on assembly and end user issues or has
the electronic manufacturing industry changed? I think the change in
subscribers to forum over the last couple of years has changes just like
the participation at IPC working meeting has changes. It used to be
that there was lots of participation at meeting by engineering personnel
from many major manufacturing companies. Over the past 5 to 10 years
the participation by engineers from major manufacturing companies has
decreased dramatically probably for a lot reasons (they make less, we
out source more, there are less engineers, emphasis moved away from
technology to the bottom line, etc.). The last few working meeting I've
attended had very few engineering people from major manufacturing
companies but there were many representatives form vendors or companies
that had something to sell.

My vote would be to keep the board exchanges within TN rather than add
another forum which would take more time to follow and dilute the
subscribers.

George

In the beginning...yes, TechNet was supposed to cover the complete
package but that's not the situation today (to nobodies fault), most
fabricators have moved on as the forum has transitioned to focus more on
assembly and end user issues. Yes, there are fabricators still
subscribed but not like years past.

I thought that was what was included in TECHNET. I have appreciated
when board fabrication questions have been asked, both assemblers and
designers - as well as - board fabricators have responded.
