Carlos,

The idea of many users today is that an edge boad connector is not inserted
more than twice.  Once for functional test and once for insertion in the
equipment.
If any problem occurs after that, take it out and discard it.  Sometime the
functional test is skipped.  For this application the 5 microinches of gold is
sufficient provided the environment of use is not very harsh.  If you want
many insertions you better go with the thicker gold.  The old rule of thumb
was: The total number of insertions plus the number of extractions required
should be equal to the gold thickness in microinches.  So if you wanted fifty
insertions you would put on 100 microinches of gold use.
