Brown oxide and black oxide are both processes to improve the adhesion of
copper in multi-layer laminations. The color is an artifact of the
difference in the surface texture. They involve putting core panels into a
heated solution of something like sodium hydroxide.
If this is a multiple choice question, I guess the answer should be iii.
Electrolytic plating process...
