I have a great story about shipping/labeling etc. for everybody who has had
it up to here with self-appointed safety experts..

We ship samples by air regularly, and given the details required, do
something on labels, or shipping papers, incorrectly a high fraction of the
time.....say 25%.

Our shipper TRIES to charge us for the cost of returning the goods with the
incorrect labels, or papers. In order to do this, he must get a signature
that we have received it. When this happens he bills us something like $70
for returning say 10 pounds, the full 5 miles from his terminal to our
door.

HOWEVER, here is where the fun starts.... the value in the container is
usually less than $10.00, and so we refuse to take the shipment back, and
refuse to sign for it... he cannot bill us, and is stuck with a hazardous
material... which he has to pay to dispose of!

We usually get a sheepish phone call a few days later BEGGING us to accept
the shipment back, WITHOUT SIGNING FOR IT... so they cannot bill us...

One for the people who actually work for a living...
