A PCB Designer encouraged me to post this job requisition on
technet.ipc.org.  I an sensitive to the appropriate use of various
organiziations and have no desire to offend users by posting jobs in IPC
Technet. Your feedback on IPC Technet will provide me direction in the

Engineer/Software Design Engineer
Starting Salary Range:  Up To ~$85k/Depending on Level of Experience

Must have knowledge, experience and skills:
1.  3-5 years' experience using Mentor V8 PCB tools, especially PCB Layout
and the complete PCB Design Process;
2.  Prior experience working with CCT autorouter tools, Quad tools, etc;
3.  Must have C and/or Ample programming skills;
4.  Strong Unix skills and CS skills are critical;
5.  Demonstrated experience with complex sytems to get in and write
scripts, programs, solutions and integrate systems;
6.  BS or MS in EE or CS, or equivalent degree in engineering or related
scientific disciplines;
7.  Must possess a high degree of personal communication, teamwork, and
leadership skills;
8.  Must have a strong understanding of software systems, operating
systems, languages, computer hardware, interfacing, and networking,
particularly in a Unix environment;
9.  Experience using, installing, and supporting CAE tools, particularly
Mentor PCB tools;
10.  Detailed understanding of Mentor design tools and procsses;
11.  Teaching and training experience helpful;
12.  Understanding of PCB manufacturing release process and standards.

In summary, client is very specific in their search.  They are looking for
a candidate that has strong Programming, Unix and Systems skills along with
Mentor PCB tools, i.e., both engineering and software expertise is
required.  Client is willing to pay "top dollar" for the right person.

Job Duties:
1.  Address client's growing CAE tools needs;
2.  Work with CCT autorouter and QUAD tools;
3.  Eventually move into other areas such as ASIC;
4.  Write scripts, programs and create solutions;
5.  Participate in corporate-wide efforts to integrate systems; and
6.  Assist Engineering staff and PCB design department in proactively
pursuing immediate and long-term solutions to improve PCB design efficiency
via support, training, process improvement and automation.
