Shrinking boards. Exotic dielectric and conductive materials. Routing high voltages through tight places.

This year's APEX 2001 Technical Conference will play host to an open forum that will give attendees the inside track on the hot new standards and world market data for high density interconnects (HDI) and microvias.

Standards play an integral part in establishing industry-approved requirements and a consistency in understanding between users and suppliers. This free forum will provide the latest status on technical standards and guidelines for HDI/microvia materials, performance criteria and design concepts. Leading industry representatives from the IPC HDI/Microvia Committee (D-40) will host a panel on upcoming HDI design standards for PWB build-up, as well offer their insights into market drivers and innovations within North America and Asia.

HDI and Microvia Status of Standardization will take place Wednesday, January 17 2001, 10:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the San Diego Convention Center. On-site registration is available now at the IPC APEX Web site: http://www.apex2001.org/
