Well done, Dave. You should have a medal, tin, of course!
I graduated in 1951, did 2½ years in the army, wielding a soldering iron
keeping things working, then was in the industry until I officially
retired in 1997 and received my pension. Continued on odd paid jobs
until 2004 (notably for the environment in our industry). Since then,
have amused myself for nothing writing web pages and suchlike and
commenting on a few forums, including TN, how to set the world to
rights. It has been a most rewarding professional life, except
financially, of course, and I flatter myself to think my contribution to
the world around me has been positive and I hope it will continue for a
few years yet (a fortune teller told me I would die at a 100, shot by a
jealous husband).
