The IPC Drilling and Routing Subcommittee (4-12), under the new leadership of Steve
Bloemeke, Megatool, has begun work on the next revisions of IPC-DR-570A and
IPC-DR-572.

IPC-DR-570A, General Specification for 1/8 Inch Diameter Shank Carbide Drills for
Printed Boards, and IPC-DR-572, Drilling Guidelines for Printed Boards, have both
been looked at closely by Steve Bloemeke, and he has noted some changes/updates he
feels are necessary for these documents to meet the current industry.

Anyone who is interested in taking part in the revision of these specifications is
encouraged to attend the Drilling and Routing Subcommittee meeting at IPC Printed
Circuits Expo, Tuesday, March 16, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

If you would be interested in reviewing Steve's changes,or if you have any questions
or comments, please feel free to contact me directly.

Best,

Chris
