JF,
I am short on particulars but have your fab shop check with their solder
mask vendor as I know that there is work being done on the formulations of
white mask by a number of manufacturers for this very reason.
Regards,
John Parsons

Hello again,
Just realized that I forgot an important detail. It is in fact metal core
(Al). Thank you all for your answers. Still investigating the problem, I
will give feedback as soon as we pinpoint the problem...

Most recently, I had seen white solder mask on boards (metal core?) going to
the LED lighting industry (reflectors). I understand the IPC effort on
boards for LED lighting was being centered on the China office. I have
copied David Bergman of IPC on this response, as he may provide links to all
kinds of technology for white mask.

Subject: [TN] White solder mask discoloration
Hi Technetters,
Does anyone have experience with white solder mask? Any chances of success
assing these through reflow without discoloration?
We had a bunch of them sent to our CM and they all came back with a yellow
o brown discoloration. I believe there are different types of solder masks
ut there but is there some standard regarding their capacity to resist
eat? The process used it RoHS.
Thanks in advance!
