Hello Thor

The Compendex Plus (Engineering Index) database is and Indexing and
abstracting database that contains abstracst of professional
engineering articles from journals and conference proceedings. The
database can be searched by key word, author or date. The results
are presented in citation--title of the journal, title of the
article, name of autor(s), issue number of journal and pages, and a
50 to 100 word abstract is provided.

After I perform searched I refer patrons to their company libraries
( if they have one) or to a local University with an engineering collection.
If the library does not have the proceeding or journal you need you can reqest
an interlibrary loan. A librarian will use a database that searches
cataloging records from universties accross the U.S (and some foriegn
libraries) that have dumped their records into the system. Generally, it is free
or inexpensive to have the library perform this service. Check with you local
library(ies) to see what their policies are.

If your in a rush to receive an article you can contact companies
that supply article(s) on demant. But, be ready to pay for this
service. The cost will include the fee for suppling the article, fax
or mailing charges, and royalties to the author.

If you have additional questions or need a search please contact me
