Steve,

We have had numerous experiences where the component package was only
available in LCC format but we needed to use the component in a military
application where vibration testing and thermal testing is done. We take the
LCC packaged component and ship them to North Penn Technology in Hatfield,
PA where they attach "J" leads to the LCC. Now the components can be placed
and reflowed and will pass all thermal and vibration testing. We have done
this on a fairly routine basis and we have not had any failures due to the
weld attachment of the "J" lead. The cost is generally $150 for a set-up
charge and then there is a price paid per component, depending on the
quantity.
