Yawza!!!! I'm glad a mild rant gets such responses...

Darrel
Oh, I don't have issue with the process. I just have an issue with the
naming. Sorry, it's been bugging me for awhile.

Franklin
And about dumping white Sn on my wife, she already has a heart of gold. I
wouldn't want to get anything brittle in the mix.

Rich
And what does King Tu of IBM know??? He's a thin film scientist, and we all
know those guys don't come out of their vacuum. Having hosted King before,
I'm guessing he was referring to crystal structure as well since he probably
did tons of materials analysis (as is his group's nature) and he's not
really a solder guy. I still think the term was misused. But, history is
history and I've learned why the product is called the White Tin from a
process point of view. I thought it was a clever market ploy.

Dan
Wiskers are controlled by adding small amounts of impurities to inhibit long
range (multigranular lengths) grain boundary diffusion of tin. They
shouldn't be an issue today now that they are understood.

Carey
