Here the guy comes in seeking advice, which IS what this site was
established for, and some bozo with a plaque on his wall wants to play
big-shot and try to shoot him down.

Notice I did say "try to".

Go play with your diploma bozo, cause you sure as hell don't need to be
involved in progress happening around here. Better yet, go play with
yourself, it's seems you're the only one your feeling good about anyway.
