Oh, well. This is the second time I will have to give them a day off as I am travelling (far far far away from my hometown and Schlumberger).
They are welcome to Texas and, actually, may provide an assistance consuming nice, thick and juicy Texas steaks for me while I am out of Texas ... and have to explore different types of food.

... and I can promise that there won't be any snow in Houston, TX upon their arrival.

Mark.

Subject: [TN] NTC Friday Element Quiz Answer

Hi folks - Here is the Friday Element Quiz Answer (sorry for the slow
response):

The Question:
This element does not exist in nature and has never been directly artificially produced. It serves only one commercial purpose: it can be used as a source to produce Cf. What element is being described?

The Answer:
The element is Berkelium (Bk)! Only milligram amounts of Bk have ever been produced. Bk is produced by bombarding Am-241 with helium creating Bk-243 plus two neutrons. Some Bk compounds have been produced with great difficulty - BkCl3 which weighed only 0.0000003 grams (that's 3 billionths of a gram if you don't want to count the zeros).

The winner of the weekly element quiz was Mark Kostinovsky, Schlumberger, and he will get the services of Clumpy and Kloumpios for the week. The boys assisted with moving Monday's snow fall and are headed to Mark's facility today.
