Is it possible for MEK to remove solder mask residues? Someone
recently told me this is so, but I'm not so sure.

Address,

A majority of PCB shops out there use MEK (Methyl Ethyl Kentone)
in-house. To what extent are most of you using it? Are any of
you using MEK to clean rollers on the Resist Laminator or similar?

Other than being a health hazard and I'm aware the MEK attacks the
rollers. What else?

Please advise.
