Jeff,
I recently discussed PCM cards with Lisa Williams at IPC. IPC has a proposal
draft in circulation right now. It is IPC-2224.
She can probably get you a copy of this.
To answer your question though, most designs I have looked at incoporate the
use of 0.5 oz. copper innerlayers. This helps insure the best thickness
uniformity across the card. It also allows the use of single ply bonding
sheet construction.
Heavier copper weights would tend to imbed more of the available dielectric
thickness of the bonding sheets.
I hope this answers your question.

| Hello. Just a quick question about PCMCIA Cards. What
| copper weight should
| we specify to our PCB vendor? Is there a standard or
| common weight for thin
| boards? Thank you for your help.
