A lot of companies use Operator Inspection vs a QC Type doing Final
Inspection.
Operator Inspection programs work ok as long as proper training is employed.
A second set of eyes never hurts and it may be that who ever stuffs the
board does not inspect it but someone else does.
In a lot of cases it is a matter of dollars (overhead cost) as most
Quality Functions are considered overhead or indirect labor.. I did said
some, not all.
I
You do not mention company size i.e.; number of employees or if you are part
of the
Quality function or if your company has a Quality function.
Determining factors. Others may have additional info to provide hope this
helps.
