Richard,

I am investigating Omikron now. Getting ready to do a proto run this
coming week.
I have not found anything to worry about with Omikron other then possibly
shelf life, which
is not a problem for me. We don't have large runs and turn board inventory
in a matter of
weeks. I have industry cohorts with first hand knowledge that say
IWT-Omikron is better than
ENIG in their opinions, so I am giving it a try to see if it eliminates the
problems I have with
OSP. I'm sure there are others who will say differently, but that is why I
am running the
prototype. The proof is in the performance for me.

I have heard about some problems with Dexter-FST, but not with Omikron,
which is why I am
trying it. There are also a lot of pro's and con's with Au, so IWT seems
like a potentially good replacement for OSP/HASL/ENIG, if it performs.

If you have some specifics on your statement that "neither work very well",
I'd be interested
in hearing what those specifics are.

Thanks.....DT
