Do you refer to "permanent" solder mask (ie. applied by PWB vendor) or
temporary solder masks (that you apply and either "wash off" or
manually remove)?
I can go into our experiences if you want to call or email me
directly.

Subject: Alternative Solder Masks

I need some information on alternative solder masks to be
used with no-clean flux. Protecting tooling holes as the
CCAs are processed across the wave solder machine is the
concern. We are considering Kester 973 VOC flux and Kester
951 no-clean flux. We solder in panels, half panels, and
single boards. I am expecting the machine to automatically
control wave height to prevent flooding, etc. Could I
please get some feedback on the mask issue since I will be
doing some tests on some machines in the immediate future.
Thanks in advance!!!
