I believe one of our customers, Hughes Identification Devices, has a
system like this.

Subject: Attendance Monitoring Systems.
To: TechNet
Hi there,
I'm looking for information on attendance monitoring systems.
I'm developing such a system based on proximity 'smart cards' to
accurately record actual labour hours/build rates/efficiency etc. in
an assembly cell and would like to get some information on similar
systems (manual or automated).
My proposed system will (in theory) do the following:
1. Automatically detect the presence/absence of workers in an assembly
cell (as they walk through a proximity type loop detector)
2. Monitor the build/yield rates of the assembly cell
(using pass/fail indicators at final test part of cell)
3. Calculate actual labour hours, efficiency, build rates and yield
etc. (from the collated data)
4. Display this information on a scrolling LED display above cell
(One per cell)
5. Upload data to a file server, where management reports can be run
to update standard costs or estimate capacity etc.
I would appreciate it if anybody has any information on such systems
or know where I should look on the INTERNET etc.
