With respect: Do you think you are asking the right question?
Presumably your use of IPA is historic, based on the then best
information/products available and the compliance environment at that time.

So the question now should be something like: what is the most effective,
safe and environmentally least damaging flux removal process I can use
without breaking the bank.

IPA is not a very good flux remover but is highly flammable and explosive in
the right mixes. To me it doesn't seem a good idea to go to a lot of trouble
to install a possibly expensive and dangerous procedure just to perpetuate
an old habit. There are better safer cleaners and easily so demonstrated.

Hope this helps

Regards

Mike

Subject: [TN] Alcohol Distillation

I am looking for some information from people who own a alcohol distillation
unit that converts alcohol waste (alcohol + fluxes etc.,) into usable
alcohol again. I know that such a unit exists, but need to talk to people
who actually use it. We are trying to limit the amount of IPA waste we
generate from clean boards prior to CC.

Offline replies are welcome too.

Thanks and regards,
Amol
