          Don:
               Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.  Before
          you decide to go with glossy mask, here are some things to
          ponder.

          1. Glossy mask tends to attract solder balls more frequently
          during assembly.  This is because of the higher surface
          tension.  Surface tension tends to be broken up by the matte
          masks.

          2. Inspectors prefer matte soldermasks over glossy.  The
          glare thrown off by glossy masks can really get to you after
          hours of looking at boards.

          Perhaps for these two reasons, the majority of my customers
          specify a matte soldermask if anything.  I would suspect
          that glossy masks can contaminate as well as the matte
          versions, so your company's decision based on this one bad
          experience might cause problems further on down the line.
