          John:
               I started my illustrious circuit board career 20 years
          ago in the drill room.  At that time, obviously we weren't
          dealing with .010" drills in BUT boards (big, ugly, thick).
          We did, however, have our share of broken drills.  Because
          carbide is hard but brittle, we used to use tools that were
          like an elongated pushpin to push the drill bit residue out
          of the hole.  I would assume that the same could be used
          nowadays, just smaller.  Maybe a needle would work.  It
          would have to be something which is a hard metal.  Also,
          unless the board has multiple parts per panel, oftentimes
          the hole is damaged, looking more like an egg than a circle.
          It usually causes scrap.  Good luck!
