We've performed a variation on ASTM D 3846 on PWB materials for clients
in the past. The method involves notching opposite sides of the
specimen to the center plane. The specimen is then compressed in a side
supporting jig so the center plane between the notches is in shear. For
any hope of meaningful data the specimen must be uniform (no holes or
innerlayer traces in the test section). Please feel free to call me if
you'd like more information.
