As always you are a wealth (and health?... ;-) of great information. The
aspirin portion of the recommendation seemed innocuous to me when I read it but
you make important points. I trust that others have picked up on them. The
key from what I have seen personally is taking action without delay.
My uncle had a mild stroke at his 80th birthday party and he could not pass
all of the tests. He is fine today but certainly in part due in no small part
to the presence of one of my cousins who is a physician. When noticed our
uncle's suddenly slurred speech he made a quick decision and said it was "party
over" and drove him to the hospital (in spite of my uncle's protests that he
wanted to wait to see if it would pass).
