Hi Brian,

You are living in the belly of the beast and I respect your always well
considered observations and opinions, so your message, however grim, is given due
weight. I simply hope that the few statesmen, who must surely be there among
the myriad of politicians, might find a way to get their colleagues to at
least consider favoring the future of the environment and the electronics
industry over their power and pocket books. One can always hope.

Surely someone in parliament must be able to see that if there is to be a
mandate to recycle, the matter of lead in solder is moot, even if it was a real
problem, which it is not. Does no one in the parliament see the irony?

A 5 cm thick constitution? Sounds like a good cure for insomnia ;-)

You are right that the summary is not all that revelatory, nor, I suppose,
could it possibly be but it does contain some high minded thoughts of worth
and merit.

On the matters of the bazaar, I think the curvature of cucumbers might be
covered by an obscure military specification on this side of the pond. (at
least it is not a law) What do they do, arrest the grower and imprison the cukes
until the straighten out their ways? ;-)

Best,
Joe
